Use Wesson oil....make sure the grease is hot 350-375 degrees. Put fish in the pan skin side up. Turn only once.

Also, I've gotta disagree with Chrissy's recipe about putting the fish right in the cornmeal. You gotta dip that fish in either buttermilk or eggs first. Can't skip that step.

Mullet is my favorite....catch, clean while still moving, and cook...my dad I and I would catch the mullet and cook them on the dock.

You need a cast net to catch 'em, Chrissy. Lacking that, head over to the Catfish Hut and get the Large mullet dinner with cheese grits and corn fritters. You won't be sorry.

You can supposedly catch them with a small gold fishing-hook using bread balls as bait.....and let the hook set on the sand.....I have never done that because my cast net will feed you with one good...

I have NEVER heard of catching mullet on hook and line. I've lived here my entire life. Never heard of it, never seen it done. Only ever caught 'em with a cast net.

Chets and Marina Oyster Barn are the only places I eat fried Mullet...other than home. I ate a Chet's in Pace and had the Mullet....the mullet was curled when the plate was served....which means it...
